Wayne Eugene Thacker Sr., 78, of Lynchburg died Saturday, October 13, 2018.
Born December 31, 1939, he was a son of the late Leroy and Violet Hunt Thacker.
In addition to his parents Wayne is preceded in death by a brother, Wesley Thacker; sister, Violet Marie; brother, Ronnie Lee and son, Ronald Scott Burchette.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Rebecca B, Thacker; children, Wayne Thacker Jr., (Trina) and Annette Gilbert (Rob); sister, Joyce Mitchell; niece, Theresa Hogan; nephew, David Mitchell; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren and all of his friends at Cotton Hill and the local Pub.
The family would like to thank the physicians at Stroobants Cardiovascular Center, the cardiac unit at The University of Virginia Medical Center, the entire staff at the dialysis center on Clifton St., and Dr. Ashraf.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. with a service immediately following at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg. Burial will take place Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
