Wesley Terrell Brown, Sr.
Wesley Terrell Brown Sr., 79, of Forest, died on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Lynchburg General Hospital after a short illness. He was the devoted husband of Phyllis Hensley Brown for 27 years. Wesley was born on September 26, 1932 in Campbell County, the son of the late Charlie Daniel Brown and Odell Leftwich Brown. He was predeceased by his first wife, Willie J. (Bootee) Brown of 27 years.
Wesley served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, he was a faithful member of Hyland Heights Baptist Church, a retired truck driver from Pilot Freight Carriers and a part-time driver at Brookville NAPA Auto Parts.
In addition to his wife, Wesley is survived by four sons: W. Terrell Brown, Jr. (Teresa) of Lynchburg, Donald Brown of Lynchburg, Michael Brown (Sandy) of Forest, Scott Brown (Jeannie) of Rustburg; one step-daughter: Cindy Beasley (Kenneth) of Charlotte, NC; eight grandchildren: Jason (Nikki), Jeremy (Greta), Lindsey, Erin (Homer), Cheyenne Brown, Christian Bersch-Brown, Kelly and Nolan Beasley, and fourteen great-grandchildren; one brother: Billy Brown (Cathy); two sisters; Eloise Peters, and Betty Whitmore (Edgar). a brother-in-law, Marshall Watts.
In addition to his parents and first wife, Wesley was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Brown, Jr.; a sister, Susan Watts and a grandson, Caleb Brown Prettyman.
A visitation will be held from 7:00 \"" 9:00 pm on Monday, February 20, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, VA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg with the Reverend Carl Weiser officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park.
