Wesley Thomas Silby, Jr. stepped out of this life and into life eternal with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 3, 2015, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Rebecca “Becky” Bass Silby for just three days shy of ten years. Born in Lynchburg, Virginia, on April 25, 1967, he was the oldest son of Sylvia Honig Silby and the late Wesley Thomas Silby, Sr.
Wes is survived by his four children, Corey Silby and his fiancée, Carly Puckett, Brooke, Cullen, and Colton Silby; two sisters, Lynn Townsend and her husband, Scott, and Joan Ochs and her husband, Michael; brother, Cecil Silby; grandson, Hunter Silby; a very special aunt, Dorothy “Dot-Dot” Logwood; mother-in-law, Dale Bryant; father-in-law, Emmett Bass, Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
He was attending services at Living Water Ministries and Tree of Life Ministries. Wes loved camping with family and friends, coaching, and attending his children’s basketball and soccer games, talking on his cell phone, and prompting lively conversations via Facebook.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight, Friday, March 6, 2015, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A celebration of Wes’ life will be held at 12 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Tree of Life Church with Pastor Mike Dodson and Pastor Mack Almond. Interment will follow at Tree of Life Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kleiner, Dr. MacCallum, and all of Wes’ Oncology and Lynchburg General Hospital’s “Special” nurses for their loving care. They would also like to thank everyone for their love, prayers, and acts of kindness during this difficult time.
