William Marcus “Marc” Arrington, 67, of Milton, Georgia, passed into the loving embrace of his Heavenly Father on Monday, February 19, 2024. Marc was the beloved husband of Sheree Rorrer Arrington.
Marc was born on March 14, 1956, in Lynchburg, Virginia, the son of William Cleveland Arrington and the late Jean Delores Wilson Arrington. Marc received a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Most of Marc’s professional career was spent as an electrical engineer with Duke Energy. He was a long-time member of Advent Lutheran Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, and after moving to Georgia, transferred his church home to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
Besides spending time with his family, Marc’s greatest joy was working in his yard and garden. During any season, friends and family always knew they would find Marc hard at work beautifying outside. He took special care to ensure every plant was in the right place to have space to grow, the right sunlight, soil, water, and nutrients. Marc found joy, peace and was closest to God in his garden.
Marc will be especially remembered for his volunteerism and giving. His selflessness was reflected by a lifetime of philanthropic acts including serving the community in his adopted City of Milton, fiercely practicing environmental activism, and ongoing charitable contributions to others in need.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sheree; son, William Colton “Cole” Arrington (Rebeca) of Cumming, Georgia; father, William “Bill” Arrington, of Forest, Virginia; sisters, Sherrie Harler (Mickey) of Forest, Virginia, and Rhonda Helm (Roy) of Rustburg, Virginia.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Frederick Frazier and Rosa Wilson.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, Virginia, with his brother-in-law, Pastor Richard Rorrer, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Tinnitus Association, 8300 Boone Blvd, Ste 500, Vienna, VA 22182. https://ata.org
