William "Bill" Owen Thomas, Jr.

William "Bill" Owen Thomas, Jr., of Davis Creek, Nelson County, Va., just ten days before his 88th birthday, on January 6,2025 slipped away peacefully with his wife by his side. After spending his final week at his Stepson's, Rob Whitley and wife Sharon's, with his wife, Peggy in Forest, Bill's struggles ceased. 

Bill was predeceased by his parents, William Owen and Agnes White Thomas, two sons, William Owen Thomas III, Richard Matthew Thomas; two brothers, Douglas MacArthur Thomas, Michael Stewart Thomas and Stepson, Michael Whitley.

Bill is survived by his wife, Margaret B. Thomas (Peggy) of forty-six years, his daughter, Michele Thomas Wittman (John) of Virginia Beach, his brother, Thomas W. Thomas (Mary) of Lynchburg, Sister-in-law, Betty Kaye Thomas of Virginia Beach and a Stepson, Rob Whitley (Sharon) of Forest, two grandchildren, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. 

 He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. Before moving to Nelson County, he lived and worked in Virginia Beach. Bill loved to go to the Farmers Market in Nellysford to visit with friends and neighbors. He also was a Master Gardener. Donations may be made to Oak Hill Baptist Church on Davis Creek or your favorite charity.
