William Thomas Brunson, Jr., 77, of Lynchburg, Va. passed away at Lynchburg General Hospital in the early hours, Friday, January 15th. He was born on October 25, 1938 in Oklahoma City, Ok, son of the late William Thomas Brunson and the late Waunita Fawn Brunson of Oklahoma City, Ok.
William T. “Bill” Brunson was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma from which he holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, both active and reserve, where he rose to the rank of Lt. Commander. He retired from Areva, Inc. after thirty-six years in the nuclear power industry.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sarah A. Brunson of Lynchburg, Va, his son William Drury Brunson and daughter-in-law Jodi L. Brunson and granddaughter, Moira E.A. Brunson now of Chaska, Mn, his aunt Pauline P. Johnson of Oklahoma City, Ok, his nephew Nicholas B. McDonald of Norman, Ok among his extended family.
A private service was held followed by cremation. Interment will be conducted at a future date in accordance with his wishes.
