William Charles Grygotis 88 departed this life on November 20th at Dubuis Hospital in Texarkana, TX after extended complications that were a result of his age. He is survived by his wife Jean H Grygotis, Texarkana, Texas and his son Bob and wife Sherry of Texarkana, Texas along with grandchildren Jack and Alex Grygotis.
Bill was the youngest of four brothers who grew up in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He was a World War II veteran who saw service in D Day and Europe. He graduated from Rutgers University in 1949 with a mechanical engineering degree. He was employed 27 years with Babcock and Wilcox in Barberton, Ohio and Lynchburg, Va. He retired in 1983.
He was a Lion and an Elk in Lynchburg, Va. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, travel and fishing over his lifetime. He was a member of Grace Memorial Episcopal Church in Lynchburg, Va. He was a member of the vestry and designed a columbarium for the church where his remains will be at rest.
The family wants to thank the staff of the Dubuis Hospital and St Michaels Hospital as they gave him excellent care over the short time he was there.
The family will have a private memorial service at the church columbarium at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 15, 2012 in Lynchburg, Va.
