William Christian Smith, 87, of Forest, VA and formerly of Grantville, PA and Palm Coast, FL, passed away at his residence on Sunday, May 28, 2017.
He was the son of the late Homer D. and Blanche K. Smith.
He was also predeceased in death by two brothers, Edward and Robert Smith and one son, Gene E. Smith.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Y. Smith of the residence; two sons, Carl W. Smith (Bonnie) of Forest, VA and Terry L. Smith (Lydia) of Lebanon, PA; one brother, Harold Smith (Lucetta) of Palmyra, PA and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Smith served his country during the Korean War as an Army MP. He was a former employee of Carvel Ice Cream Supermarket and TRW, both in Harrisburg, PA.
Mr. Smith enjoyed fishing, Wii bowling and Nascar racing during his retirement.
He attended Mt. View United Methodist Church in Forest, VA.
Mr. Smith will be interred in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA with military rites on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 11:30 a.m.
