William Coley Eisaman, 89, of Moneta, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia. He was the loving husband of Estellabelle Johnson White Eisaman for over 67 years.
Born September 4, 1924 outside of Pittsburgh, Pa. in the town of Ligonier, Pa. the family soon moved to Latrobe, Pa. where he received his education and graduated from Latrobe High School. He was the son of the late George "Peck" Eisaman and Ora Coley Eisaman. William was a US Navy veteran of WW II. His wartime assignment was on the USS Trutta submarine, number SS- 421 as a Torpedoman Second Class, conducting combat patrols in the Pacific Ocean. After the war William spent a brief period of time in the Automobile Service Industry and then joined the Insurance Industry in the early 1950's. He retired in June of 1987 from Hartford Insurance Company in Pittsburgh, Pa. after 27 years of devoted service. He has lived at Smith Mountain Lake, Moneta, Va. since 1988. He was a member of the Halesford Baptist Church, Smith Mountain Lake Lions Club as one of the Eye Glass Coordinators, and the USA Philatelic Society. William loved his Family, US Navy submarines, Civil War history, toy trains, books, collecting US stamps and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In addition to his wife, William is survived by his three sons: Harry Eisaman and wife, Charlotte, David Eisaman, Keith Eisaman and wife, Sheri; sisters, George Ann Yafchak and husband Joe, Nashalla Eberhart and husband Bob: grandchildren, Barbara Hansen and husband Mike, Sherry Maddox and husband Chris, Alexis Eisaman, Lindsay Eisaman and Step Grandchild Nikki Page: great grand children McKayla Hansen, Brayden Hansen, Haley Maddox, Kacie Maddox and step great- grand child Jacob.
We invite family and friends to join us 1 p.m. Monday November 11, 2013, at Halesford Baptist Church in Wirtz, Va. (540-721-8640) followed by a Funeral service at 2 p.m. Pastor Melvin Harris officiating.
A committal service will be held 1230 p.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2013 in the cemetery chapel of the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, Va. (804-561-1475) with Pastor Melvin Harris officiating.
