William Conrad Harry Birgbauer

William Conrad Harry Birgbauer passed away on January 17th, 2023. Bill was born on May 17th, 1950, to Donald Birgbauer and Gertrude Birgbauer, in Santa Barbara, California.

Bill is proceeded in death by his wife, Sara Jane Birgbauer; his sister, Cheryl Hamilton; his parents; Donald Birgbauer and Gertrude Kukowski, and his grandparents; and Harry Nigh and Gertrude Nigh.

He is survived by his aunt, Louise Cataldo; his siblings, James Birgbauer, Barbara Spivey, Greg Kukowski, and Gary Kukowski; his nieces and nephews, Sierra Hamilton, Katrina Salas, Stacy Hamilton, Arthur Spivey, Angela Henry, Jeremy Kukowski, Amanda Kukowski, and Brian Birgbauer; and several nephews and nieces on his wife’s side of the family, Sara Jane, Robert Rhodas. He is also survived by several cousins in California, Joey Cataldo, Tony Cataldo, and others.

Bill is a loving husband, son, brother, and son-in-law. He took care of his mother and mother-in-law as they got older.

Bill grew up in Santa Barbara County and Ventura County, California. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He graduated from Hueneme High School, Port Hueneme, California, in 1976. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served proudly in the Vietnam war. After his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, he attended Cal Polly and earned his bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering.

He landed a job in Dallas, Texas for Texas Instruments. While living in Dallas he met his wife, Sara Jane. They married in Farmers Branch, Texas in 1983. He then got a job with Ericson’s and transferred to Lynchburg, Virginia in 1999. He donated a lot of time to the church food bank and was a part of the man’s club.
