William Douglas “W.D.” Howard, 56, of Madison Heights passed on to his heavenly home on Saturday, December 15, 2018.
W.D. was born July 9, 1962 in Lynchburg. He was previously employed at Snack Time Vending. W.D. was always carrying on foolishness and had a comical personality like no other. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his father Clyde Malcom Howard; his mother, Essie Pearl Cash Howard; and his only brother, Clyde Wayne Howard.
W.D. is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Faith Bell Howard that he affectionately referred to as “Bird”; his son, Dustin Lee Howard (Amanda); step-children, Amy Connelly (Jason) and Nathan Brightwell; and grandchildren, Camden Lee Howard, Trace Connelly, Ryan Connelly, Kelsey Connelly and Toby Brightwell, and Cassie Markham and April Conway of whom he thought of as daughters. He also held close to his heart his dear friends Mitchell Johns, Becky Wilson, James Campbell, Ricky Campbell, Earl Campbell, and Marshall Vest.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 21, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Madison Heights. The family will receive friends following the service at 438 Dixie Airport Road.
