William “Bill” deBlois Earle, 83, of Huddleston, VA went to his eternal heavenly home on Monday, November 13, 2017. He was the loving husband of Marilee Rose McCoy Earle.
Born in New York, NY on June 22, 1934, he was the son of the late William Pitt Stryker Earle, Jr. and Florence Madlyn Mountaine Earle. Bill is also preceded in death by his son: William deBlois Earle, Jr. and his sister Julia Earle.
Bill served in the US Air Force from 1953-1957. He worked at Pratt & Whitney in Florida for over 37 years, first as an engineer helping develop and test jet engines including the one that would power the SR-71 “Blackbird,” and then as a Cost Reduction Manager. He also worked as a Realtor for several years, and as the Facilities Manager at Blue Ridge Community Church until he “retired” at the age of 81.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter: Kathy Hawk; granddaughter: Stephanie Ashwell and husband, Dave; grandson: Andrew Brawley and wife, Tabitha; great-granddaughters: Autumn Ashwell and Emma Brawley; great-grandson: Andrew “A. J.” Brawley; Stepchildren: Chad Needham with daughter Ava, and Angela Needham Carroll and her husband, Matthew with sons Micah, Judah, and Isaiah; Brother: Peter Hubschmitt and wife, Kathy; sister: Doreen Mogavero and husband, Arcky; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Blue Ridge Community Church in Lynchburg.
