William Edward “Ed” Welch, 88 of Montvale, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 23, 1932 in Bedford, VA. A son of the late William and Zaida Dooley Welch. In addition to his parents Ed was preceded in death by his loving wife, Evelyn Dooley Welch; two sons, Edward Davis Welch and Curtis Dale Welch also one brother, Carlyle Berkley Welch.
Ed was a man of few words. He always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his great grandkids. He was often found traveling up and down the roads of Bedford county. He loved a good cup of coffee and cakes and was known for his love of electrical work. Ed was loved by his family and friends and will be missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by two daughters, Theresa Scott and husband, Eddie and Nancy Crouch and husband, Louie; one son, Jesse Grubb and his wife, Lisa; seven grandchildren, Reanna Welch, Danielle Vance, Jennifer Dudding and husband, Jason, Kasey France and husband, Jonathan, Ryleigh Grubb, Hadyn Grubb and Cason Grubb; six great-grandchildren, K-Leigh, Westin, Parker, Morgan, Tanner and Montgomery. Also surviving are numerous other family and many friends.
