William "Gene" Litchford
February 8, 1954 — October 13, 2017
Mr. William “Gene” Litchford, of Rustburg, went to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer on October 13, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Husie and Sally Burnette Litchford.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Barbara Litchford; his children Shane Litchford (Jessica) and Samantha Litchford; and granddaughters, Jolene and Harper Litchford. He will be missed by his loving siblings Nita Cyrus, Mae Haskins, Fay Andrist, and Buddy Litchford.
He was employed by Lynchburg Ford and later Apple Ford as a Body Shop Manager, and most recently a Mechanic at Thompson’s Auto Body where he enjoyed his passion of working on cars. He was an avid fan of Nascar, country music, classic cars, and spending his weekends at the local flea market.
A memorial service will be held at the Rustburg Ruritan Club, 200 Colonial Hwy, Rustburg, VA, on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at 3 p.m.
