William Henson, Sr.

William “Wade” Henson Sr, 84, of Lynchburg died Friday, February 13, 2015; he was the loving and devoted husband of Nancy C. Henson for 66 years.
Wade was born October 23, 1930 a son of the late John L. Henson and the late Maudie Carter Henson. He worked as the shipping and receiving manager for Sears and Roebuck for 32 years and was a charter member of Lakewood Baptist Church. Wade, shared his love for fishing, hunting and antiques with his family. He, his wife and his son traveled to many antique events, where they bought and sold treasures. Wade was an avid storyteller.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children: William “Wade” Henson Jr. and his wife Nancy of Madison Heights and Monica Midkiff of Lynchburg. Grandchildren: William “Chip” Henson III and his wife Olivia of Leesburg, Corrie Kelly and her husband Brendan of Charlottesville, Tara Conti and her husband Paul of Apex, NC, Matthew Clements and his wife Margaret and Tyler Midkiff all of Lynchburg,; great-grandchildren; William “Will” Henson IV, Charles Henson, Beth Kelly, Jack Kelly, Leah Conti and Joey Conti; sister-in-law Pam Viar and husband Ronnie of Lynchburg, and his best friend and companion, Benji.
A Memorial Service for Wade will be held at, 11:00am. Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Tharp Funeral Home Chapel, Lynchburg.
