William Howard Purdy, 75, of Forest, VA passed away, June 30, 2018 in Lynchburg, VA
He was born to William and Anne Purdy on January 10, 1943, in Toledo, OH. He graduated Monroeville High, USNA class of 1965, Master at L.C.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Sherry Zaner Purdy; son, Howie; daughter, Kathy; sister, Jane; and two nieces Leslie and Samantha. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Roger and Jim.
Bill loved the Lord and attended Mountain View UMC.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider making a donation to Mountain View UMC, 1077 Viewpoint Lane, Forest, VA 24551 or the Society of St. Andrew, 3383 Sweet Hollow Road, Big Island, VA 24526.
Please join us in celebrating his life. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 13, 2018, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. The funeral service will be held at Mountain View UMC on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 11 a.m. Interment will be private.
