William Jessey Hale, 88, of Rustburg, VA, died Saturday, October 30, 2021. He was the husband of Peggy Stone Hale for 60 years.
Born Sunday, February 19, 1933 in Floyd County, VA, William was a son of the late Maynard Hale and the late Gladys Underwood Hale.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son in-law, Randall Bryant, Brother Robert Jones, Two Sisters Roxy Spruce and Ruby Hale Spruce.
In addition to his wife, William is survived by his daughter Mary Bryant, Fiancé Richard Roche, daughter Melinda Hale, son William Hale Jr., and his nine grand-kids, John Wise and husband, Bradley Wise, Justin Wise and wife, Ashley Wise, Deanna Seamster and husband, Cody Seamster, Randi Langley and husband, Marshall Langley, Jessica Weeks, Emily Fennell and husband JJ Fennell, Josef Bryant, Ryann Bryant, Raven Hale, and Two great-grandsons Rylan Seamster and Liam Wise
2 CORINTHIANS 5:8 “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the lord” William was one of a kind, a beacon from an all but forgotten era. He was a man of determination, wisdom, unwavering faith in the Lord, and whose love for his family was all encompassing. He wasn’t afraid of hard work and after a lifetime of pushing past life’s obstacles he spent his later years doing what he loved. Fishing, hunting, and being stubborn, loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather that everyone knew, loved, and will truly miss.
A celebration of William’s life will be conducted at 11 am on November 3rd at Eastbrook Baptist Church with Pastor Curtis Walkup and Rev. Beverly Cunningham officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
