William John Parks, Sr. 67, of Thaxton, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017. He was the loving husband of the late Dorothy Tavernier Parks.
Born March 31, 1949, he was a son of Jessica Suey Parks and the late William Henry Parks.
William retired from Rock Dale Quarry, he was a heavy equipment operator.
William was the best father in the world. He would give you the shirt off of his back. He loved to turn wrenches and go fast.
He is survived by his son: William John Parks, Jr.; daughters: Mary Ellen Phillips, Penelope Burns, Melissa Waldron and husband, Michael, Jessie Lynn Parks; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother: Robin Clayton Parks and wife, Dorothy; and sister: Jessica Torres and husband, Isaac.
The family will receive friends at Tharp Funeral Home, Friday, March 24, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. “Tickle Tickle”
