William Peter Mccusker

William Peter “Bill” McCusker, 74, of Chepachet, Rhode Island, died Saturday, September 11, 2021. He was the husband of Susan A. Casper McCusker for 51 years.

Born on March 21, 1947, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, he was a son of the late William H. and the late Dorothy Pickett McCusker. In his younger days he tried rodeo, calf roping and bronco riding. Bill attended Pawtucket schools and graduated from Pawtucket West High School in 1966. He then attended Rhode Island Jr. College where he studied Computer Science. Bill was a tractor trailer driver for 45 years and later retired from N.E. Freightways in Douglas, Massachusetts.

Bill was a Word of Life youth leader for 10 years, attended High Pointe Church in Thompson, Connecticut and Heritage Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Bill loved hot sauce. He single handedly raised the price on stock in Frank’s Red Hot Sauce! He also loved the seafood salad at Golden Corral and the tuna burgers cooked by his granddaughters. He was a proud grandpa!

In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his two sons Michael D. McCusker and his wife, Noelle of Evington, Va. and Peter N. McCusker of Lynchburg, Va.; and his four grandchildren, Melody, Abigail, Ian and Maeghan McCusker. Bill was preceded in death by his brother David William.

A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 3, 2021, in the Chapel of Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg with Pastor Randy Miller officiating and music by Adam Stinespring and also an additional Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021, at High Pointe Church, 1208 Thompson Rd, Thompson, CT 06277.
