William “Bill” Riley Garst, 67, of Roanoke passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at the Salem Veterans Hospital. He was born in Virginia on, June 13, 1950. A son of the late Riley Orville Garst and Lillian Hancock Garst.
Bill served his country in the United States Navy. He was a welder by trade and also drove trucks for different companies in previous years throughout central Virginia. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also loved hunting, fishing, gardening and going out to eat. He will be missed by all that knew him.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Garst; two brothers, Michael Garst and Alan Garst; nine nephews, nine nieces and many cousins and friends; aunts, Thelma Plaster and Lucille Garst also two very special friends Mark Jefferies and Robert Byers.
