William Ray Campbell
William Ray Campbell, 81, of Monroe, Virginia died on Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at his residence. He was the husband of Eleanor W. Campbell for 57 years.
Born Thursday, January 29, 1931, in Amherst County, Virginia, he was a son of the late Willie L. Campbell and the late Lottie C. Campbell.
In addition to his wife, Chuck is survived by his daughter, Faye C. O'Brien of Monroe, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, three sisters, two brothers, and (My Boy\"™s).
Chuck was retired from General Electric. He served our country as a member of the Air Force. He was a member of Elon Presbyterian Church.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Elon Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Mr. Barry Tucker officiating. The family will receive friends following the service, and at other times at the residence.
Tharp Funeral Home and Crematory, Madison Heights, is assisting the family, 434-929-0055.
