William Robert Bennett

William Robert Bennett, 97, of Lynchburg, departed this life on January 13, 2015. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Lucy P. Bennett.
Mr. Bennett was born on October 21, 1917, in Hinton, West Virginia, the son of the late Orpha and Robert Bennett. He was a WWII veteran with twenty-five years of military service. He worked at Owens Illinois in Big Island for over thirty years.
He is survived by two daughters: Karen G. Bennett of Lynchburg, and Wilma B. McFaden and husband, Joe of Williamsburg; a grandson, David Jack Pearson, III and his wife, Marcy of Williamsburg; and two great-granddaughters: Kaela M. Sinclair and Cassandra L. Pearson of Williamsburg.
A graveside service will be held at Fort Hill Memorial Park on Friday, January 16, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. with military honors by American Legion Post #16.
