William Samuel Conner

William Samuel Conner, 83, of Lynchburg, VA, died Monday, February 18, 2013.  He was the husband of Catherine McCraw Conner.

Mr. Conner was born Monday, January 20, 1930 in Chillicothe, OH, a son of the late Samuel Daniel Conner and Alice Blanche Rakes Conner.   He was retired from Babcock & Wilcox where he was a manager and was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church.

 In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Barry Kent Martin, James Thomas Conner, a daughter, Catherine Martin Wright and husband Tony, a brother, Thomas Wayne Arthur and wife Brenda, grandchildren: Zack Conner, Stacy Martin, Megan Hall, Keith Wright and two great-grandchildren: Mark Hall and  Mathew Hall.

He was preceded in death by a sister:  Wanda Marie Brooks.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm today; February 20, 2013 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg. A celebration of William's life will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory with the Pastor Dan Manley officiating.  Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
