William Tyler Holbrook

William Tyler Holbrook, 22, departed from this life Saturday, December 24, 2011, due to a single car accident. Tyler graduated from Staunton River High School and was enlisted in the United States Army, as a Private Class E3, 3rd Brigade Combat Division, stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He had recently returned from his first tour of duty in Afghanistan. He loved his family and lived life with gusto. He loved riding his four wheelers, hunting and fishing.

 

He is predeceased by his grandparents, Kate and Bill Holbrook. He is survived by his wife, Lanie; parents, Preston and Amy Holbrook; one brother, Matthew (Dianna); one sister, Kristin (Gary Lee); maternal grandparents, Barbara Ann and Thomas E. Evans; and beloved nieces and nephews, Shyenne, Sienna , Mattilynn, Conner, and Tyran. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and friends who loved him dearly and who were very proud of him and what he accomplished during his life. 

 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mount Olivet Southern Baptist Church, Morning Star Christian School, 2933 Mount Olivet Road, Bedford, VA 24523.

 

A funeral service will be conducted 11 am, Monday, January 2, 2012 at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Tharp Funeral Home, Sunday, January 1, 2012 from 3 to 5 pm and also 7 to 9 pm. Arrangements by Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford and the U.S. Army.
