Bill John Waller, Jr.

February 25, 1949 — May 23, 2024

William John Waller, Jr. 75, of Lynchburg went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 23, 2024.

William or “Bill” was born in Lynchburg, Virginia on February 25, 1949, a son of the late William John Waller, Sr. and Lucille Armistead Waller. He is survived by his nieces and nephews. He is loved and missed dearly by his family of the past 15 years, David and Heather Poiles.

Bill blessed everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He was given many challenges but faced them all with determination to enjoy his life to the fullest. He loved traveling and staying in hotels, going to eat out at restaurants, simply sitting with his caregivers holding hands or seeing any baby and giving them a dollar so they could buy a drink. His very favorite thing was Kentucky Fried Chicken and watermelon which he enjoyed often. He was greatly loved by all the people in his life and his humor along with his unique sayings endeared Bill to all who met him. For all of those who cared for Bill during his lifetime, he changed all our lives for the better and we were blessed beyond measure to have known him.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 8th at Discover Church 1030 McConville Rd #10 Lynchburg VA 24502. Doors will be open at 1 P.M. and the service will be held from 1:30 P.M. – 3:30 P.M.
