Wilma Minnix Mccoy

Wilma Minnix McCoy, 87 of Forest, Va., left this world behind on Sunday, August 7, 2016, to join her husband Duane Ivan McCoy in the place our Lord has prepared for them. The couple had been blessed with 60 years of marriage.
Wilma was born on June 11, 1929, in Huntington, W.Va. She was the daughter of the late Bennard Boyd Minnix and Mabel Lorena Hunt. She was devoted to her family and her church, Chestnut Hill Baptist Church. Wilma retired as a book keeper from Jefferson Forest High School in Bedford County, Va.
She is survived by her children, David McCoy and wife, Wanda of Lynchburg, Va., and Timothy McCoy and wife, Susan of Forest; her grandchildren, Erik McCoy and wife, Michele of Woodbridge, Va., Kelley McCoy of Lynchburg, Brittany Randall, Shannon, and Timothy Ethan McCoy all of Forest, Summer Hogan-Baton and husband, Alan of Anchorage, Alaska, Claire Johnson and husband Ryan, Montgomery Hogan and wife Danielle all of Bedford, Va., and her great-grandchildren, Whitney Vincent and Cole Thacker.
She is also survived by her sister, Marceline Johnson and husband, Robert; her brother Richard Minnix and wife, Peggy; and extended families in West Virginia and North Carolina.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Martha Hogan, and her granddaughter, Emily Rupel.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 12, 2016, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Chestnut Hill Baptist Church, 5225 Fort Avenue, Lynchburg, Va. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. with Reverend Randy Bower officiating. Interment will follow in the Mausoleum at Virginia Memorial Park, 11490 Forest Road, Forest, Va.
