Wilsa Wade Tanner Candler, 91, of Lynchburg died Sunday December 28, 2014. She was the loving wife of the late Aubrey Snead Candler, Sr.
Wilsa was born August 5, 1923 in Appomattox, a daughter of the late Virnard N. Tanner and the late Clara Wade Tanner. Wilsa retired from Lynchburg College as a professional secretary for the English Department. She was a member of Chestnut Hill United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son Aubrey S. Candler, II of Lynchburg, her daughter Elizabeth Wilsa Candler, DDS, and son-in-law Matthew Gray both of Danville, and four grandchildren; Hilliary Candler, Mallory Candler, Claire Gray and Zachary Gray.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Wednesday December 31, 2014 at Chestnut Hill United Methodist Church.
A Funeral Service for Wilsa will follow at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday December 31, 2014 with the Rev. Becky Cloud officiating. Interment will be at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
