Wilson E. Woodall

Wilson E. Woodall, 92, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 25th, 2011 at 11:10 a.m. after a long struggle with heart disease. The son of the late Willie and Alice Mayberry Woodall, Mr. Woodall was born in Campbell County on November, 18, 1918. He was a long time member of Timberlake United Methodist Church and an army veteran of World War II. He loved raising a garden and working outside after retiring from Lynchburg Manufacturing Company.

He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Evelyn, his daughter; Lorine \"Woody\" Daniel, his son; Tom E. and wife, Karen, who was his \"second\" daughter, and his much loved granddaughter; Melissa Joy Woodall, of Boston, MA., along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents Wilson was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters and their spouses.

The family will be received on Friday evening, 6:00 -7:30 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, and at other times at the residence.

Funeral services will be conducted at Timberlake United Methodist Church on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Rob Colwell and Rev. Doug Pillow officiating, followed by a burial at Fort Hill Memorial Park. Lunch will then be provided at Timberlake United Methodist Church to provide an opportunity to visit with family and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to Timberlake United Methodist Church, 21649 Timberlake Road, Lynchburg, VA, or to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1388 Lynchburg, VA 24505.

The family would like to thank all of his wonderful doctors and his \"special\" girls, his home caregivers. He and we love and appreciate you all.
