Wilson Junior Hartless, 85 of Monroe, was called home to be with the lord, on Monday, February 18, 2013,. He was the loving husband of Mae A. Proffitt Hartless for 62 years.
Born Tuesday, June 7, 1927 in Forks of Buffalo, Virginia, he was the son of the late John Hartless and the late Ollie Staton Hartless.
In addition to his parents Junior was preceded in death by two brothers: Dayton and Guy Hartless.
In addition to his wife, Junior is survived by his children: Barbara Arlene Harris of Madison Heights, John Manson Hartless and his wife, Dawn Marie, of Gladstone, Steve Wilson Hartless and his wife, Ida, of Madison Heights, VA Marietta Verna Parker and her husband, Roy Welsh, of Forest, and Tammy Kay Crouch and her husband, Ernest Lee of Lynchburg; two brothers,: Blaine Straton Hartless of Amherst, and Leonard Hartless and his wife, Juanita of Lowesville; three sisters: Hilda Coculo and her husband, John, of Trenton, NJ, Dorothy Walker of Bedford and Sandra Hartless, of Forest; a sister in-law: Phyllis Hartless, of Madison Heights, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Junior loved racing and bluegrass music. He read the bible faithfully, where he found peace and comfort.
A Graveside Service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 21, 2013 in Fort Hill Memorial Park with John Manson Hartless, Jr. officiating.

The family would like to thank Lynchburg General Hospital for the compassionate and caring doctors and nurses who took care of Junior. They would like to thank Dr. Frank Garcia Family Physician, Dr. William Brown, Cardiologist and nephrologists Dr. Ashraf and Dr. Moffitt who took excellent care of Junior.
