Wilson Otey Custer

Wilson Otey Custer, 97, of Bedford died Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Oakwood Manor.
Born February 15, 1917 in Bedford, he was a son of the late Harden Leftwich Custer and Henrietta Dowdy Custer.
Wilson was an Air Force Veteran, who loved hunting, fishing and gardening. He retired form Bedford Diesel Service as a mechanic and was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church.
Wilson is survived by his children: Thomas Edward Custer, Betty Custer Fariss and husband, Claude, Brenda Custer Dooley, Carolyn Custer Bryant and husband, Darrell, Barry Wayne Custer; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Greg Rogers officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, prior to the graveside service from 1:30-3:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home.
