Winifred “Wynne” Kowalski

Winifred \"Wynne\" Hotchkiss Kowalski, 93, of Lynchburg, died on Friday, April 27, 2012 at Summit Health and Rehabilitation Center. Wynne was the wife of the late Alvin Frank Kowalski. She was born on December 14, 1918 in Sunfield, Michigan, a daughter of the late Harold Reno Hotchkiss and the late Zella Meyers Hotchkiss.

Wynne was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Lynchburg, a former teacher in Fairfax County and established libraries at a private company and a hospital in Northern Virginia. She lived abroad and traveled extensively throughout her life.

Wynne is survived by two sons, Ken C. Kowalski and wife, Gail of Lynchburg and Jerry A. Kowalski and wife, Martha of Gladys; five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by four brothers, Keith, Forest, Miles and Robert Hotchkiss and one sister, Dorcas H.Valentine.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. Dr. John Scholer.
