Woodrow Walter Bennett

Woodrow Walter Bennett, 81, of Lynchburg, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2024. He was the husband of the late Sheila Ann Jordan Bennett.

Woodrow was born April 20, 1943, in West Virginia, a son of the late Curtis Bennett and Zora Bennett. He is survived by two sons; Tony Bennett and wife Ginger of Amherst, and Paul Bennett of Amherst, two grandchildren; Charity Bennett and Tony Bennett, Jr., and wife Brittany, two great-grandchildren; Olivia Bennett and Cailyn Butlin, former spouse Norma Grubbs of Amherst, a special caregiver, Hannah Wright and her four children; Wyatt, Noah, Hydeigh, and Rae-Rae. 

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a half-sister Mary Gagliano, and an aunt who raised him like a child, Leer Summerfield.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2024, at Tharp Funeral Home Madison Heights.

 A Celebration of Woodrow’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2024, in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home Madison Heights with Pastor Tony Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
