Wren Mae Carson, 69, of Lynchburg went to be with her Lord, surrounded by her children, on Sunday, December 7, 2014. She was the cherished wife of the late Kit Carson.
Wren was born May 12, 1945, in Dearborn, MI, a daughter of the late William J. Pauley and Rita Gazelle Pauley. Wren was raised in Arcadia, California where she graduated from high school. She was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Wren enjoyed God’s beauty in all its many forms. Working in her yard and flower garden brought her tremendous joy. In addition to her family, Wren loved spending time with and caring for her many dogs.
She is survived by her children: Debra H. Griffin of Lynchburg, Patrick Hubble-Carson and wife, Bridget, of Lynchburg, Darin Carson of Dunedin, FL, and Stephanie C. Rogers and husband, Sandy, of Lynchburg; ten granddaughters: Erica, Danielle, Brooke, Meagan, Abby, Emily, Sunny, Amber, Amanda, and Anna; and two great-grandchildren: Nolan and Natalia; and her siblings: Lynne Tooley, Mike Sparks, William Pauley and Richard Pauley.
In addition to her husband and parents, Wren was preceded in death by her first husband, Patrick Lee Hubble and a beloved brother, Jay Sparks.
A Memorial Service for Wren will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday December 14, 2014, in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg with Pastor Guy Warner officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Interment will be held privately at Spring Hill Cemetery.
