Wyatt Renfrew Pruitt, 73, of Madison Heights, VA, died on Sunday, June 4, 2017. He was the loving husband of Wanda Banton Pruitt, for 47 years.
Born Sunday, August 22, 1943 in Halifax County, Wyatt was a son of the late William Hector Pruitt and the late Alice Hill Pruitt.
In addition to his wife, Wyatt is survived by his daughter, Anne Marie DeVaughn and her husband, James, of Burke, VA; his brother, Luther William Pruitt and his wife, Lea, of Madison Heights; his sister, Juanita Pruitt Huffman, of Cumberland, VA; two grandchildren, Abbie and Ellie DeVaughn, of Burke, VA; brother in-law, Benny Banton and his wife, Jane, of Roanoke; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
After graduation, Wyatt served 4 years in the Air Force. He continued his education at Lynchburg College and retired from B&W after 42 years of service. Wyatt was a devoted husband, father, and loving grandfather to Abbie and Ellie.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Madison Heights. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 in St. Stephens Baptist Church Cemetery, with Dr. Todd Blake officiating
