Yvonne Vera Dunnemann, 80, of Lynchburg departed this life on June 4, 2011 at 10:30A.M., at her home. She was a daughter of the late Arnott Lairtoo and Lillian Braithwaite Lairtoo.
Mrs. Dunnemann was born in New York, NY on May 11, 1931. She moved to Brooklyn, New York in 1952. Mrs. Dunneman maintained a career at Abraham and Strauss in Brooklyn, NY for over 32 years in a management position. She married Eugene Dunnemann who preceded her in death on February 14, 2005, along with her two sisters; Irma V. Lairtoo and Jeanette Tucker as well as a brother, Ottoneil Lairtoo.
After retiring in 1987 she moved to Lynchburg in 1989. Mrs. Dunneman was a member of Grace Memorial Episcopal Church for many years.
Yvonne Dunnemann affectionately known as \"Gramy\"; leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Goldie Yvonne King and Patricia Theodore; one son-in-law Ricky Theodore; two stepsons, Gino Dunnemann and Neil Dunnemann; three grandchildren, Shelly Tucker, Christopher Tucker and Tauri Tucker; numerous great grandchildren and her beloved pet Chai; her devoted circle of friends Juanita Greenidge, Joe and Lowrelle Bryant, Helen Spencer, Thurman and Betty King; her devoted caregivers Mrs. Madeliene Atkinson and Mrs. Edna Rose, and a host of close family and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 2316 Atherholt Road, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A memorial service will follow at 7:30 p.m. with the Reverend James Perkins officiating.
