Zelma Moles Shepherd, 73, of Bedford, died Saturday, July 2, 2011 at her home. She was born in Bedford County on July 26, 1937 a daughter of the late Harles Hugh Moles and Augie Lemon Moles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Elwood Shepherd; a brother, Harles L. Moles and a sister, Doris Jean Ransom.
She was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Steven R. Shepherd of Moneta; two sisters, Jocelyne Pendleton of Moneta, Betty Peters and husband Jack of Moneta; grandchildren, Abigail Shepherd of Franklin County and Loran Shepherd of Alaska; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Graveside in the Moles Family Cemetery on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Kyle Dooley officiating. The family will receive friends at the Tharp Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
