Charles Vincent “C.V.” Morehead, 69, of Big Island went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born on May 11, 1952 to the late Charles Vance Morehead and Margaret Campbell Morehead Manley.

C.V. was an active member of Hunting Creek Baptist Church and he loved Jesus Christ. He loved turkey hunting and fishing. C.V. loved his grandchildren and dogs. He never met a stranger and was an excellent storyteller. He will be missed by all who knew him.

C.V. is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Ragland Morehead; son, Jody Morehead and wife, Heather; grandchildren, Tucker, Justin and Abigail; siblings, Don Morehead and wife Carolyn, Larry Morehead and wife, Roxane, Crystal Goff Mitchell and husband, T.J.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Pregnancy Center or Hunting Creek Baptist Church.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 24, 2021 at Hunting Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Bledsoe officiating. Family and friends are welcome to visit at Carolyn’s house anytime.

Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford, is assisting the family.

Carolyn and all of the Morehead family, we are so sorry that you are in this sad time. We are so thankful to know CV loved Jesus and through that we know he is in Heaven at this very moment and that we all will see him soon. We pray for God's comfort to hold each of you, to give you peace and calm and the assurance that CV truly is safe with Him. We know how much you will miss him, but pray that every day God will give you humor in precious memories and comfort in reflecting all the times with him here.
