Joanne Brown, age 83, of Forest, Virginia passed away on December 3, 2022.  She was the daughter of the late Leslie and Grace Campbell, and the wife of the late Tom Brown for over 50 years.

Mrs. Brown was born on May 13, 1939, in Missouri. She attended school at Albany State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree, then pursued her career in Social Work.

Mrs. Joanne Brown was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church and enjoyed painting, reading, sewing, and gardening. She also enjoyed sitting on her porch and watching nature. She had a great desire to know more about God’s word and loved to study the Bible.

Mrs. Joanne Brown is survived by her daughters, Melani Clanton of E. Dublin, Georgia and Ava Beckwith (Rick Beckwith) of Forest, Virginia; grandchildren, Blake Canton (Kristine Clanton) of Peachtree City, Georgia, Miranda Worsley of Atlanta, Georgia; Jessica Beckwith of Wilmington, North Carolina, Ricky Beckwith (Lindsey Beckwith) of Rustburg, Virginia, and Daniel Beckwith of Forest, Virginia; great-grandchildren, Quinn Clanton, Aiyla Beckwith, Trey Monroe, Declan Beckwith, Oliver Beckwith, and Gabriel Beckwith;  sister, Barb Hawley (Butch Hawley) of Anchorage, Alaska; and niece, Lisa Gravel of Wheaton, Missouri.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Joanne Brown is predeceased by her daughter, Dina Brown and her sister-in-law, Sue Brown.

Rick, ava and family, I am so saddened to hear of Joanne's passing but rejoice that she is with our Lord. Joanne was such a sweet lady and I'm going to miss her sweet smile and graciousness in our life group each sunday
