I am falling short with the right words to express the sorrow felt by the loss of Kaya --or \"Kaya-Papaya\" as she was often called in our home. From the moment she connected with Emma, we knew the Basham family was going to be forever changed! The best part about Kaya coming into our lives was that it meant we were immediately part of the Atkins family as well-- even after Emma gave her an unexpected haircut! Although many tears have fallen over the last few days, it bring a smile to remember the amazing memories she helped create. From hearing her laugh and squeal in the pool, to watching her run to the bus stop, to seeing her handiwork while tackling different masterpieces of art, or seeing her run through the woods between the two houses… these memories will all be cherished. Kaya made an incredible impact on our family and we are forever grateful!
