Elizabeth Marsh Anderson

Frances Elizabeth Marsh “Liz” Anderson, 84, of Forest, Virginia passed away on July 7, 2022.  She was the daughter of the late Maynard and Frances Marsh, and the wife of the late James Arthur Anderson for 66 years.

Elizabeth was born on January 10, 1938, in Lynchburg.  She attended E.C. Glass High School, then pursued a career in finance and accounting, working the majority of her time at General Electric / Ericsson in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Liz was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church, serving as pianist and organist for over 32 years.  She was faithful and devoted in her walk with the Lord. Her warm smile and beautiful spirit touched everyone she knew.  She loved her family dearly, and in her husband’s later years cared for him as his health declined. Her generosity, selflessness, and faith have left an everlasting legacy to her children and grandchildren.

Liz is survived by three sons: Jimmy Anderson (Gail) of Jacksonville, FL; Tommy Anderson (Donnie) of Orlando, FL; Ron Anderson (Pam) of Forest, VA; and one daughter, Lisa Anderson Lee (Don) of Winchester, VA:  eleven grandchildren, Sara Anderson Ackerman (Brandon) and Holly Anderson of Jacksonville, FL, Justin Anderson (Christy) of Winter Garden, FL, Dylan Anderson (Alana) of Denver, CO, Corey Anderson of Orlando, FL, Brittany Anderson Whitley (Jim) of Richmond, VA, Brooke Anderson Richards (Daniel) of Roanoke, VA, Matthew Lee of Jacksonville, FL, Annie Lee of Manhattan, NY, Michael Lee and Molly Lee, of Winchester, VA: seven great-grandchildren, A.J. Ackerman and Tyler Ackerman of Jacksonville, FL, Aaliyah Anderson and Jordan Anderson, of Winter Garden, FL; James Whitley V of Richmond, VA; Connor Richards and Parker Richards of Roanoke, VA; and a sister, Patricia Chafee, of Afton, VA.

In addition to her loving parents and husband, she is predeceased by a sister, Edwyna Marsh Cassada.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 11, 2022, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, VA.  A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at 11:00 am at Spring Hill Cemetery, Lynchburg, VA with Rev. Louis Beckwith officiating.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 20957 Timberlake Road, Lynchburg, VA 24502.
