Dear Lucy: We have known you since high school and have known Jim since you married him. He was a good man and loving husband and father. The Slagle House was a testimony to your hard work and your amazing resourcefulness! We cannot attend the memorial service on January 11, but you are now and will be then in our thoughts. Please extend our condolences to Kent and Scott, who we remember well from their childhood. With sympathy and love, Bill and Nancy Blackwell Midlothian, VA

Lucy and family: Sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. He was the greatest boss I had in my entire career. Jim always kept us laughing and he enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved playing tricks on people, while keeping a straight face. I don’t think he ever fully trusted me after his 62nd birthday celebration! Y’all will be in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
