Karen Amelia Bowers
Karen Amelia Gallagher Bowers went to be with Jesus on June 13th, 2022, after a long, painful and courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by the two great joys of her life Mary Hannah Bowers and Annastin Amelia Bowers as well as her truly loving and dedicated partner Jerrold Woods, Jr. all of Hoschton, GA. She is also survived by her parents Fred and Doris Gallagher, her brothers Kirk Gallagher of Reno, NV, Rodney Gallagher and wife Trish Gallagher and Tate Gallagher all of Lynchburg, VA, as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends, especially Dori Harvey Connor, Heather Houck Harris and Shelly Thornton Burnell.
Karen graduated from Lynchburg public schools, E. C. Glass High School and Bauder College of Fashion Design in Atlanta, GA. She was briefly employed in the retail industry and by a financial group but most of her tireless energy was devoted to the loving care and support of her daughters. She will always be remembered for her kind and loving spirit. She was the most dedicated mother who always put her girls before herself. Karen, Mary Hannah, and Annastin were truly the three best friends with the strongest bond that will never be broken.
A celebration of Karen’s life will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Friday, July 1, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. and a family gathering will be held at Spring Hill Cemetery, Lynchburg, VA.
Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice Care, Braselton, GA or a charity of your choosing.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
